Wedding Experience: Venue Tips

Light

For prep, choose rooms with ample natural light, since standard indoor lighting can be unflattering. The more windows, the better! For indoor ceremonies/receptions, white walls and ceilings are best for avoiding wonky color casts in your photos. At outdoor venues, look for spots with even shade, especially if events take place midday when the sun is harshest. Photography is the art of light, so keeping that in mind is invaluable!

Space

Is the venue/location organized and spacious? I’m happy to move anything I can to enhance your photos, but starting with a clean slate is super helpful. The last thing you want in your wedding photos is a messy background or distracting element.

Features

Beautiful architecture, interesting patterns and unique details are always fun! Does your venue have particular features that would make for great photos? I’d love to include them on our portrait list!
